IPS Indian Police Service
The IPS or Indian Police Service is the Indian Police Service and is one of the three Indian services of the Indian government. How To Become an IPS Officer

IPS Eligibility
CriteriaStudents who wish to join IPS must meet the conditions set out below before they can appear for the UPSC CSE exam. Details of the eligibility criteria are provided below:
1. Nationality: To apply for the UPSC IPS vacancy, the candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. Age Limit: Candidate must be 21 years of age and must not be older than 32 years from August 01, 2021. This means that candidates must be born before August 02, 1989, and not later. . August 01, 2000.
3. Minor Qualifications: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree from any recognized University.
Test pattern
The IPS test consists of 3 phases. The first two stages are written tests. The pre-test tests consist of two 200-mark papers each and the 9 compulsory mainstays with 2 naturally qualified test results with a detailed IPS test are provided below.
IPS Prelims Exam Pattern
UPSC Prelims is an offline test that covers objective type questions. The test is done for a total of 400 marks (Two mandatory papers with 200 marks each). The total time for each paper is 2 hours while an additional 20 minutes are given to visually impaired people. For all incorrect answers, one-third of the marks allocated to the question will be deducted. The paper is available in both Hindi and English. TrainingCandidates are then trained for the next 2 years before being appointed Assistant Superintendent of Police on the field. The training of IPS officers has 4 stages.
Foundation Course: It is the first phase of IPS training where baptismal candidates are trained with other officials from All India Services and training is provided at LBSNNA.
Phase 1 training: This training phase is conducted at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Academy, Hyderabad. This is a powerful training phase where IPS officials are trained at physical and technical levels to manage their roles and responsibilities.
District Performance Training: This is a very interesting phase of IPS training where the officer deals daily with the police and the challenges that the police department faces in maintaining law and order in the city / town.
Phase 2 Training: This is the final phase of IPS officers training conducted at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Academy, Hyderabad.
